Sensory Nooks are personal mobile sensory support pods. They have been designed by sensory specialists AmbiSpace ltd & Nook Wellness Pods to provide an easy affordable way to help people with special needs and disabilities survive everyday public places.
How they do this is by reducing sensory overload from the wider environment. They create a controllable capsule in which neurodiverse individuals can self regulate and function to the best of their individual ability.
Public places can become totally overwhelming for people with special needs, creating sensory overload, anxiety, personal crisis situations and ultimately meltdown.
These clever little mobile Nooks provide a safe space that avoids isolation and reduces challenging behaviour.

This is a fully portable sensory room alternative in which occupants sit on the seat or stretch out
comfortably on the padded floor. It is a safe space in which to self-regulate, relax and take a break from sensory overload. It is an ideal space for sensory therapy.
The extra depth of two Nook shells joined together creates a fully embracing sensory cocoon,
protecting the occupants from the stresses of the wider environment by reducing noise and providing a personally controllable space.

“When you go to a music festival with three autistic children you do wonder if you will last more than ten minutes. Thanks to Sensory Nook being at Wonderfest we lasted two days!
All three of my children visited their area but my nearly seven year old daughter especially made them her safe place for the weekend.
On day two she had a meltdown and started running … she kept
running straight across the field and straight into one of the Sensory Nook’s! She laid down for around twenty minutes amongst the lights, no talking and managed to re-regulate herself. Normally in that
situation it would have been game over for us and home time – This allowed us to continue on for a while longer.

Tactile, visually stimulating with a calming effect. A definite sensory favourite. The carpet adds further sound damping properties to the Nook
environment and prevents reflected light glare.
Colour Select Light Panels
Mood influencing controllable lighting. Select colour, intensity and brightness to suit individual needs. The even spread of light reduces shadowing and provides active sensory support for people with dyslexia, autism, dementia and visual impairment in particular.
Vibration Seat Pads

Engaging fun way to explore light and sound. 10 different coloured pattern modes, each one encouraging vocalisation and teaching cause and effect. The panel is supplied with a micro SD card containing 14 music tracks and a microphone to sing along. The four illuminated buttons make interaction inviting and easy.
